A4e’s goal is to improve people’s lives through delivering public services. Its work focuses on helping people into employment and reducing re-offending through support, advice and training. It also provides access to legal services, financial support and advice to those who need help and is also improving access to health and care services. In 2009 A4e’s turnover was £146m. A4e employs 3,100 people in more than 200 community offices, mostly in the UK, but operates in 11 countries across four continents. In 2008 A4e assisted nearly 20,000 people into work, and helped more than 11,000 people gain a qualification.
