About Homes for Haringey

Homes for Haringey is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) set up in April 2006 to manage over 16,700 rented and 4,500 leasehold properties owned by Haringey Council, which retains ownership of all properties. In January 2008 the government had allocated £200m to Homes for Haringey to improve homes, following a two-star inspection result from the Audit Commission. Its vision is to be a valued and exceptional company maximising its positive impact on people’s lives.

“Challenge was intrinsic and positive to the development of the company”

Homes for Haringey | Britain's Top Employers 2011 “I joined as a graduate intern. From my first day it was clear that this was an organisation that welcomed open communication and that challenge was intrinsic and positive to the development of the company.

“There are many training opportunities for expanding my skills base and a variety of projects I have been involved with - for example, strategy and policy research on new housing regulation to resident and community engagement. There are always new, stimulating experiences to further my career.

“I was recently awarded ‘new starter of the year’. I expect that I will continue to grow here and am confident the organisation will support me fully.”

Aaron Peake, project officer, chief executive’s office, employed for one year
