“It’s also been really interesting to experience the cultural differences”

John Wood Group PLC | Britain's Top Employers 2011 “The ‘Young Guns’ programme is for young engineers in their first five years and allows you to apply for a one-year exchange. I was lucky enough to be selected from Mustang Engineering in Houston and am now in Aberdeen. I’m working for the same department but have had a lot of different things to do. It’s been quite a learning experience.

“It’s also been really interesting to experience the cultural differences. There’s a much more diverse workforce here in the UK, from all parts of the world, and it’s fascinating to learn about their cultures and ways of working. Most people would not get this kind of opportunity so early in their career.”

Angela Wariso, instrument engineer, Mustang Engineering, joined 2007
