“The great thing is the very organic opportunity for progression”

"Hydrogen offers excellent career progression and I feel 100% supported by the company. The great thing is the very organic opportunity for progression, and this makes you feel valued as an employee and inspires loyalty. Being entrusted with so much responsibility at this stage feels like an honour and I value the opportunity I have been given. The industry training has been great. It gives me extra support as it gives me broader knowledge and so helps me do a better job. The FastTrack training in particular has helped me develop. The fact that the company is prepared to take me off the desk for a day’s training makes me feel invested in, and in return I want to do my best."

"There are lots of great offerings from Hydrogen, including training, social events, a car scheme, and incentives like the 125 lunches. Recruitment has a reputation for being cut-throat, but everyone here works as a team and are very supportive of each other’s deals. It is a hard-working culture but fun too, and we all enjoy ourselves."

Amreen Kang, Team Leader, has been with Hydrogen since September 2010

“The best part of the training is having close contact with senior management”

"Joining Hydrogen was a fantastic move for me as it allowed me to fulfil potential I had not previously been able to when working for a smaller company outside London. Opportunities present themselves regularly and the company encourages people to take advantage of them. I have always felt completely backed and invested in, even when I was new and unproven. The best part of the training is having close contact with senior management. It makes you feel recognised and appreciated, rather than just a cog in the wheel. The transparency of the sales framework allows everyone to be clear on what they need to do to hit their milestones and everyone is judged by the same benchmarks, making it a level playing field."

"It is a very incentivised work environment with multiple competitions running at any one time. For the last three quarters I have been lucky enough to qualify for the quarterly lunches offered to the top billers and I am off to Ibiza in May as one of the company’s highest billers in 2012. Although a very motivated environment, Hydrogen feels very down-to-earth and has a fun but hard-working culture, which suits me perfectly. There is a real sense of camaraderie."

Terry Leigh, Team Leader, has been with Hydrogen since 2010

"It’s a well-used phrase but people really are at the heart of our business"

"It’s a well-used phrase but people really are at the heart of our business. Without the hard work and commitment of each employee, we would not be where we are today. Over the years we have developed a core ‘Deal’ with our employees, and it is this that makes people want to work for us and stay with us. In return for working hard, we offer a work environment with great people and a great culture – year on year, this has been the top reason given in our employee survey to work here. We also have an award-winning, in-house training and development team, as we believe strongly in giving everyone the chance to develop."

"Our salaries are competitive, placement commissions are uncapped, and show-stopping incentive trips provide great recognition to our sales teams. This year has also seen a new incentive launched for our operation teams, recognising their value and contribution to the business. Our planned talent management approach in 2013 is strategic and streamlined, resulting in clear development pathways globally across the business. A further benefit of this programme will be a visible talent pipeline designed to meet business requirements now and in the future."
