“The variation I find in my job makes it very interesting”

"Bentley differentiates itself with its strong Values and Brand Image. It is committed to putting its employees first, which is reflected in the enthusiasm and dedication of its staff. Bentley’s passion for quality is second to none. The Quality of the workforce and the company are well represented in the finished products. One of the most attractive things about Bentley, and the one that is most appreciated by me, is the huge opportunities that are available. Firstly the opportunity to work and study at the same time, leaving college straight into the workplace on a sponsored degree apprenticeship scheme. I have also been fortunate enough to spend a short length of time working abroad in our sister company Audi in Germany. The opportunities within Bentley and the VW group as a whole are vast."

"Bentley is focused on the development of its employees. Training courses are offered both within the business and in external seminars. You can pursue accreditation from a variety of professional bodies. I think one of the highlights is the responsibility for owning a complete system (in my case suspension). As Bentley is a relatively small business in global automotive terms, the variation I find in my job makes it very interesting."

Hannah Proffitt, Chassis Engineer, joined Bentley Motors in 2007

“Bentley’s apprenticeship scheme was the ideal way to gain qualifications and experience”

"Bentley differentiates itself from other employers by its continued investment in people. Bentley has a strong commitment to apprenticeships, graduate schemes, personal development and maintaining a highly skilled workforce. Bentley ensures regular person development reviews to ensure that it is getting the full potential out of every employee. In addition, as part of the Volkswagen group, Bentley is able to offer employees opportunities to complete an international placement at a partner brand."

"As an apprentice I appreciate having the opportunity to do a degree while I work. The degree is paid for as part of the apprenticeship programme, and I receive the full support of colleagues and manager. For me, Bentley’s apprenticeship scheme was the ideal way to gain qualifications and experience in the motor industry. The scheme has also allowed me to gain a better business understanding through placements in other departments. Bentley offers a wide range of on the job training to help colleagues to further themselves. I would recommend Bentley as an employer to others because of its commitment to developing people as well as a wide range of employee benefits. Bentley also offers a friendly and supportive working environment with many social clubs and team activities."

Max Sykes, Junior Engineer, MMI & Lighting, joined Bentley Motors in 2011

“It is equally important to have a culture that rewards commitment, creativity and quality”

"There are few industries more globally competitive than automotive. To maintain our leadership in the high luxury sector we have to ensure we have the very best people, highly motivated with the right skills and the right support. We therefore place huge importance on both development and recruitment, investing in our colleagues so that they are apace with the latest technologies and process improvements. This can unlock tremendous potential and is an investment for the future, but one which ultimately rewards individuals and the Company alike."

"However, we also believe that Bentley should be a great place to work. Many of our colleagues have worked here for decades and there can be as many as three generations of the same family here at any one time. They value their employment here because we endeavour to provide good, secure jobs with people empowered and provided with tremendous benefits within a supportive environment. It is easy to be inspired by the Brand and the fantastic cars we produce, but it is equally important to have a culture that rewards commitment, creativity and quality. That framework is essential for us as an employer and is fundamental to the commercial success of the Company."

Dr Ariane Reinhart, Member of the Board for Human Resources, Bentley Motors
