“It's genuinely possible to get your idea in front of senior management for consideration”
"IG is really good at encouraging innovation. Anyone in the company can suggest a change or improvement, and because we don't have layers and layers of hierarchy, it's genuinely possible to get your idea in front of senior management for consideration. Even though the company has grown rapidly over the last few years, we have managed to keep that ‘small company’ feel. I like being able to dress more casually than most other financial institutions. It's not a big deal but it can make being in the office more comfortable than a lot of other places."
"IG is great at recognising and rewarding talent and commitment. I've held a number of roles in a relatively short space of time by showing an interest and aptitude in areas outside of my normal role."
Adam Dance
“IG is evolving all the time and so there is a constant need to adapt and evolve with it”
"I have worked at IG for just over two years now and it doesn’t surprise me that it’s been named one of Britain’s Top Employers once again. There is a distinctive, friendly culture here and everyone is approachable, which helps create a great working environment. Despite there being over 1,000 employees working in different offices across the globe, it still feels like a closely knit group of workers – which is a feeling you wouldn’t get working with most global corporations."
"I work as a Credit Risk Supervisor, a role that is really diverse in terms of responsibilities and where I get to learn new things every day. I’d definitely recommend working at IG to anyone looking for a challenge. IG is evolving all the time and so there is a constant need to adapt and evolve with it. IG is excellent at rewarding employees who show initiative and work hard, both in terms of the annual performance-based bonus and in terms of the opportunities given to progress. It offers several great perks as well, my favourites being the contribution IG make towards any gym membership and the share incentive scheme."
Philip Waters, Credit Risk Supervisor
“I am overwhelmed by the ‘IG-ness’ that greets me whenever I visit any of our 16 overseas offices”
"IG has grown from a small niche telephone-based trading company to a global online trading organization, which is rapidly becoming the default way to trade in the key financial markets. It’s been an exciting journey for us as an organization, and the challenge has always been growing the business into a global firm but retaining the feel of a small, ambitious and exciting company."
"I think we have been successful on that count – I encourage the senior team to visit our network of offices as often as we can and I am overwhelmed by the ‘IG-ness’ that greets me whenever I visit any of our 16 overseas offices. It’s the best part of my job, meeting our people and listening to their enthusiasm in building IG’s business in the various territories. I believe the Top Employer Award has captured that success and it is reflected in judges’ ratings."
Tim Howkins, Chief Executive, IG Group
